The Office of the Missouri State Auditor works to ensure proper use of taxpayer dollars and hold government officials accountable.
This is done by performing audits of state agencies, boards and commissions, the circuit court system, the counties in Missouri that do not have a county auditor, and other political subdivisions upon petition by the voters. These audits examine financial accountability, waste, opportunities for fraud, and whether government organizations and programs are achieving their purposes and operating economically and efficiently.

Audit Staff
Perform audits of state agencies, boards and commissions, the circuit court system, the counties in Missouri that do not have a county auditor, and other political subdivisions upon petition by the voters.
Information Technology
Provides IT services, support, and infrastructure for the Office of the Missouri State Auditor.
Administrative Staff
Provides general administrative and operational support for the office. Includes Fiscal and Human Resources.
Communications
Provides members of the media and the general public with information on the latest happenings. As well as the release of audit reports.
Local Government
Provides services to local governments and maintains reporting for financial reports, federal forfeiture reporting, and property tax calculations.
Investigations
Work with the public through our Whistleblower Hotline to investigate tips on potential audits.
